Delhi
Welcome on arrival at Delhi. Transfer &
check-in at hotel. Afternoon combined sightseeing
tour of Old and New Delhi visiting Qutub Minar,
India Gate (War memorial), Lakshminarayan Temple
- a modern Hindu Temple, and driving past President's
House Parliament House and Secretariat Buildings.
Also drive pass Raj Ghat and Shanti Van - the
cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal
Nehru, Jama Masjid and Red Fort. Overnight at
hotel in Delhi.

- Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur (260 km, approx
6 hrs drive). On arrival check-in at the
hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight
at the hotel in Jaipur.

DAY 03 |
Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber Fort, the ancient
capital of the State until 1728 AD. Visit
the Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory
glittering with mirrors. Jai Mahal and
Temple of Kali. Ascent on Elephant back,
the hill on which the fort is situated.
Afternoon city sightseeing tour. Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan was given a colour
coat of pink a century ago in honour of
a visiting Prince. Ever since it has retained
that colour. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh,
the notable astronomer, this city is 260
years old. Visit the Maharaja's City Palace
and the Observatory. Albert Hall and Museum,
Ram Niwas Gardens; drive past Hawa Mahal
or the Palace of Winds. Overnight at hotel in Jaipur.

Jaipur
- Agra
Morning drive to Agra (235 km. Approx.4
½ hrs drive) en-route visiting
Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar
in 1569 to commemorate the birth of his
son and later abandoned due to scarcity
of water. Visit the remains of its fortifications
within the city including Jama Masjid,
Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal and
other Palaces. On arrival check-in at
hotel.
Afternoon city sightseeing tour visiting
the world famous Taj Mahal built by the
Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his
queen Mumtaz Mahal, to enshrine her mortal
remains. Later visit the Agra Fort containing
the Pearl Mosque, the Halls of Public
and Private Audience. Also visit Itmad-ud-Daula's
tomb built by Empress Noorjehan in memory
of her father. Overnight at hotel in Agra.

Agra
- Khajuraho
Transfer to the airport for flight to Khajuraho.
Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
The world famous Khajuraho temples were built
between 950 AD and 1050 AD by the Chandela Kings,
who claim descent from the moon God. These temples
are famous for their exotic sculptures. The
most important are the Chaunset Yogini temple
dedicated to Goddess Kali, the Mahadev Temple,
Chitragupta or Bhaatji temple with an image
of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi Temples.
Lakshmana Temple, Viraha Temple dedicated to
Shiva, which is the largest and most typical
of the Khajuraho Temples. Also visit Javeri
Temple and Parasvanath Temple dedicated to Jainism
and the only Temples still surviving in the
Eastern group. Overnight at the hotel in Khajuraho.

Morning visit Panna Wildlife Sanctuary 40 Kms. and back to Khajuraho.

Khajuraho - Varanasi
Transfer to the railway station on day 06 evening for the night journey by train or transfer to airport for flight to Varanasi on day 07 morning. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon city sightseeing tour. Varanasi the holiest city of the Hindus and
one of the oldest living cities in the world was already old when Rome was
founded and a flourishing trade centre when the Buddha came to Sarnath to
preach his first sermon. It was a city of great wealth and religious
importance when the Chinese traveller Hiuen Tsang visited in the 7th
Century. Visit the Bharat Mata Temple with a big relief map of India in
marble . Durga Temple. Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University and its
Art Gallery and the Mosque of Moghul Emperor Aurangazeb built on the site of
an ancient Hindu Temple. Overnight at hotel in Varanasi.

Varanasi - Delhi
Early morning boat excursion on the holy river Ganges, a ferry pilgrimage
from ghat to ghat. Visitors have an unforgettable grandstand view of the
ghats from Asi to Rajghat. People bathe early in the morning to offer
prayers to the rising Sun. The two cremation ghats are the Manikornika and
the Harishehaneba where funeral prayers burn day and the Harishehaneba where
funeral prayers burn day and night. It is the belief of every pious Hindu
that to die in Kashi and to be cremated on the banks of the Ganges is to attain release from the cycle of birth and death.
Afternoon transfer to the airport en-route visiting Sarnath, the buried
Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. The site is marked by
the massive Dhamek stupa which is believed to date back to 500 AD. Sarnath
was a renowned school of learning from 6th century BC to 12th century AD. Visit the ruins of the stupa, the Buddhist temple and the Museum (Museum
closed on Fridays).Varanasi
Later proceed to the airport for flight to Delhi. Assistance on arrival
and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Delhi. |
